Janelle Chapin

Janelle holds an associates in addictions counseling and bachelors of fine arts in social work. She has worked for many agencies in Fairbanks as an advocate for victims of domestic violence as well those with traumatic brain injuries. Currently she is working for a mental health clinic as the intake coordinator.

She first became involved with ACCA when her son Russell was born at 27 weeks. She worked on developing a Preemie Support group in Fairbanks. When her daughter Areena was diagnosed with a vision impairment she became involved again.

Janelle believes strongly in empowering families and individuals. She currently is serving on the board for Heart Native Hearts Coalition which provides education on domestic violence and Fairbanks Native Association HeadStart Policy Council.
